Southern Heating Fuels Ltd was started by Matthew O'Donoghue in 1989 as an after hours emergency fuel service. Diesel was supplied to hotels and businesses that had run out outside normal working hours when the major oil companies would not deliver. Fuel was delivered in 210 litre drums and hand pumped into the clients fuel tanks.

After a year a J1 Bedford truck was purchased and six, 210 litre drums were tied on the back. A pump and ex firehose reel were used to do the after hours deliveries.

Business grew and in 1990 the first mini tanker truck was built.
Today Southern Heating Fuels have two 16,000 litre tankers, each with a 22,000 litre trailer tanker, a 14,000 litre tanker, two 4500 litre mini tankers, and a 3000 litre mini tanker.

Answering the telephone in the office and taking orders, is Andrea, a native of Austria.
Organising and carrying out the delivery runs is Roger, assisted by Mike, Brent and Clive.
